DRUMMING THROUGH STORYTELLING IN CHILDREN EDUCATION

The session will start with a light warmup, body drumming, games of animal sounds. The session will continue with drumming on the actual djembe drum in simple rhythms, such as heartbeats and galloping, so that all children will succeed, and feel part of the drumming circle. Next we add more sounds and tell stories about the animals, along with various rhythm games.
The drumming level swill be flexible and adapted to the groups’ dynamics, as well as the age of the children. During the session we will play with the rhythmic dynamics, learn two rhythmic rhythms (Poly-Rhythmic), invite participants to play solo with rhythm support from the group - all along with listening and smiling.
